Translation

As a lifelong speaker of Spanish, my fluency has given me access to a multitude of opportunities. Having been lucky enough to live several years in Spain has granted me a depth of cultural knowledge and language skills that I am eager to share with the world.

As a winner of the UVA Global Internship Scholarship, I worked in Valencia Spain as their primary English translator of historical documents, descriptions, and visitor information, including an entire exhibition on paintings inspired by the Spanish Civil War.

Throughout my 5+ years working as a Spanish Teacher for Chesterfield County Schools, I also frequently served as a live interpreter for meetings with parents in our community and translated written correspondence on behalf of my colleagues.

If you’re interested in seeing examples of my work, my translations appear throughout the English version of the Valencia History Museum website. I have also translated works of fiction from Spanish to English, such as El ahogado más hermoso del mundo, by Gabriel García Marquez.
